Not sure that I will ever actually make a Firefly costume as there is no main character that suits my age and gender.... and...there really isn't a large amount of "generic" costumes that would be recognizeable as Serenity/Firefly like there is in Star Wars.
I have a couple referance books from Serenity and Firefly....so I can check to see if there are some good costume referance photos and hints of what is made from what with regard to the costumes from the movie/series...

You could always just make your own Browncoat costume Phyllis. It would be a nice opportunity to throw your own style into a costume (which I get out of my system with all my fairies. )

I have a Firefly-ish costume. Like schph (Phyllis), I do not fit the profile of any of the characters in Firefly. However, I have something that looks like it belongs in the 'verse. I'll get some better photos made and send them out.
Hey Destiny. I know you both from TJA (JediKai there).

I'll get my Kaylee out and take some pics. All I have are what was taken at DragonCon. I got lots of compliments, at least I don't think one needs to worry too much about gender/age when costuming. I'm much older than Kaylee, but I did it anyway. I plan on doing a female version of Mal next D*C, and maybe even a Zoe someday. I'm neither male nor a woman of color, but I'll wear it proudly! Oh, I'm also not as skinny as Kaylee, but that didn't stop me either.

schphgochi I'm not sure what you look like, but for an older (no offense) white female, Patience is always an option!
