The 'Verse is a costuming club for Firefly/Serenity fandom worldwide, with hopes of becoming the public face of the Firefly/Serenity costume community through costuming, public appearances, promotions, and charity work. Think of them as the 501st (official Star Wars Costuming organization) of the Firefly 'Verse, minus the "official" title (although they'd eventually like to acquire that as well). This is a costuming club that accepts any and all costumes related to the Firefly 'Verse with hopes of bringing together Firefly enthusiasts all under one roof. A place to share info on costumes, how-to's, sources, and anything else costume related. I hope to make these some of our Main charities. Most of what you see here has been copied from their hard work!

What if we support all of the main charities of the Firefly folks who openly support one? Like Equality Now, and The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (Adam Baldwin), and Kids Need to Read (Nathan Fillion) for example. Supporting multiple charities might get some of the main stars on board with what we're trying to do here. I'm going to be going to Detroit next weekend to the Detroit Fanfare Comic Convention and I'm going to see Adam Baldwin on Saturday. I'll tell him of this club and what we're trying to do. Perhaps it may spark some interest with him. I know this club is brand new, but have any of the members here had face to face time with anyone involved in Firefly yet informing them of us? Also, what are we officially? I know the name at the top of the board says club, but are we a club, a group, or an organization? What is the 501st?

I should be in my Jayne costume. if you see me say hi.. I am all for supporting any charities! Equality Now was the only one I knew of that had a firefly connection. thats awesome that there are others with firefly connection. you are welcome to talk to any of them about us.. as for who we are... bascilly we are a Firefly costume club ..group and organization kinda fit too... what would you consider the difference? I am not sure.. the 501st, is a star wars costume club.. over 8000 members worldwide. they do all kind of charity events all over.. if you see someone in a very good star wars costume.. most likely its them. www.501st.com

Sorry, when I asked what the 501st was, I meant what did they consider themselves, a group, club, or organization. I am aware of who they are what they do. My bad, now that I re-read what I wrote, I totally understand why you misconstrued my meaning...lol. As for the difference between the terms, I guess to me, organization sounds more official than club. But that's something that can be discussed amongst the membership. I did look at the 501st website and they are an organization. That's cool that you plan on going to Detroit too. I'll definitely look for you. I'll introduce you to my friends Malcolm Reynolds and River Tam who will be hanging out with me.

I like what we are. We're bad guys... when we rob private payroll banks.
