thats what I got.. dyeing them, at least for me, was a real pain in the arse! the brown always turned to have a purple tint to it.. I too think it looks brown in most of the pics, but some of them I see black and grey.. when I met Adam Baldwin, he said they are not brown. they are grey and black. I showed him mine, he said those are it. I took my "purple" ;D ones, bleached them, then dyed black. I also had to use a black marker to get the darker parts I am going to stick with the black and grey, if Jayne approved? then good enough for me! ;D but brown would be accepted too, cause some pics look brown on a side note, dont forget the thumb on the left hand is NOT cut off.

I'm left handed, so I left my right side thumb on.

The gloves from Serenity are UFC style MMA fighting gloves, with the logos removed. Last time I priced a pair, they run about $45.00 USD. Another thought about the reason the gloves from Firefly look brown in some shots is studio lighting and simple wear and tear can affect the color of some objects when photographed. Just a hunch. Thanks for these posts, Crix.

Worked on my Jayne Firefly gloves last night in preparation for Wizard World Toronto this upcoming weekend. They are currently drying but I love how they turned out.

I used RIT liquid dye. Soaked the gloves to get them wet. Filled up a basin with hot water and poured in the amount of dye indicated by how much water I used (as per the instructions on the bottle) and then stirred the water with a wooden spoon to mix in the dye. Placed the gloves in the mixture, stirred them up, flipped them over and let them soak for about an hour. Once that was done, I emptied the basin down the drain and then ran cold water over the gloves wringing them out until there was nothing but clear water left as I wrung them out. I then left them to dry.

They look great! Where did you get your gloves? How do they look after they have dried?
I can't seem to get mine right.. I am not happy with mine, they are ok, but could be better
